Feeding
Savage Cat food is appropriate for cats of all life stages, from kitten to senior. In general, feed your kitty 2% to 4% of their weight daily. For example: the recommended daily total for a 10 lb. adult cat is 3 to 6 ounces of food. Divide daily serving size into 1-2 meals for adult cats, 3-4 meals for kittens.
Optimal feeding amounts may vary with age, size, breed, and activity level. Please refer to the feeding guidelines as an initial recommendation and adjust amounts based on your pet's individual needs. Pregnant and nursing females can eat 2 to 3 times the normal adult amount, which can vary based on their litter size. Always have clean, fresh water available at mealtime.
Storage Instructions: Store frozen and thaw in the refrigerator prior to feeding. Do not cook or microwave food. Discard any food that is not consumed within an hour and clean serving dish and surfaces. Thawed raw food will maintain optimum freshness for up to 3 days under refrigeration. For individual portioning, thaw the tub and refreeze in an ice cube tray or silicone mold. Tubs can be thawed and refrozen one time.
New Users: Sudden changes in diet, including overfeeding, can sometimes result in digestive issues. Always introduce any new food by slowly mixing with your pet's current diet for the first 7-10 days, increasing the amount of Savage Cat while decreasing the amount of the other brand.
Savage Cat Food made with rabbit & lamb is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages.
