A Split Antler chew can last for months, as your dog gradually wears it down slowly over time. As with any hard chew, they can break teeth if your dog works them too aggressively, or tries to bite down on them, rather than gnaw on them. Once he can fit the entire antler in his mouth, it should be thrown away. Remember, an Antler is meant only for adult dogs with good teeth, and should NOT be given to puppies or seniors, as it could potentially crack fragile teeth.
