One of the best ways to keep your pet's coat looking fabulous, is by brushing and/or combing them regularly. Consistent use will distribute healthy oils, reduce the formation of mats, and leave pets with a shiny, healthy coat. Each type of grooming tool has a different purpose, so you can cater to your pet's individual needs.

Slicker brushes are best for use on medium-coated, long-coated, wire-coated, and curly-coated pets. This type of brush is covered with tightly-packed wire pins angled to go through the coat and avoid the skin. Regular use can help to prevent mats from forming.

The Artero Juliet Long Protected Pin Slicker Brush features long flexible pins with protected tips, to prevent skin irritation for pets with sensitive skin, and an ergonomic bamboo handle.

It is available in three sizes – be sure to select the appropriate sized brush for your pet. For example: XS for a Pomeranian or cat, M for a Sheltie, and L for a German Shepherd.

Usage

Using the slicker brush regularly (weekly, at a minimum), prevents the coat from becoming extremely dirty or creating knots and mats.

Always brush your pet in the direction of hair growth, never against it. Use with care, using small strokes and slowly working on small areas at a time.

If your pet's coat is tangled, spritz it with a detangler or leave-in conditioner prior to brushing, to minimize any tugging or pulling of fur.
